A Little About Myself

Certified Postpartum Doula

Certified Newborn Care Specialist

Certified Childcare Professional

If you are in need of postpartum care I just may be the help you're looking for. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I feel very fortunate to be in a career that I love. Supporting women and empowering families is what I do best. And of course, loving babies!

From me, you will receive the support you need from an educated, compassionate, loving Doula who has been there myself.  In me,  you'll find a confidant, and a safe place to go for non-judgmental information, and knowledge. You can feel assured that you are being cared for by a Doula with 30 years of experience and education behind me.

I am the mother of an amazing 10-year-old daughter. In my free time, I'm a musician, and I love rollerskating!

My Experience

30 Years of Working With Children and Their Families

Professional Nanny

 1989- 2018

While working as a professional nanny, I gained valuable experience in guiding young children through age-appropriate activities and helping them reach each milestone. I became a trusted and integral part of each family. I am still in touch with many of the children and families I have worked with over the years. Hearing from them and knowing I’ve affected their lives in a positive way fills me with pride.

Certified Newborn Care Specialist

2012 - Present

In 2012, after working with infants as a nanny for many years, I decided to go back to school and earn my certification in newborn care. Nurturing babies and their families has been one of my greatest joys. In 2015 I wrote and taught my own in-depth curriculum for a newborn care class specifically for students preparing for their certification in newborn care.

 Certified Postpartum Doula

Being a Doula is a natural fit for me. I earned my certification as a Postpartum Doula through the well respected certification program at Doulas of Austin. Nurturing families is my passion. Creating trust and supporting a bond between parent and child is my goal. Educating parents about their baby and gently supporting mothers and fathers, helping them navigate through the postpartum period is what I love to do.

 Quality Postpartum Care

: a person trained to provide advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort to a mother before, during, and just after childbirth

A postpartum doula provides evidenced-based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother-baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care. A postpartum doula is there to help a new family in those first days and weeks after bringing home a new baby.

We love working with Renee; she's been a huge help for us in the months following the birth of our son. In particular, we were so relieved when we first met Renee and knew she would be a great fit for our family. Her calming and collected presence exudes a quiet confidence that would put any new parent at ease which, for us, was essential as I returned to work. It is a joy to see our son light up whenever he sees Renee and we feel comfortable knowing he's in good hands. We've also benefited from Renee's experience in infant care and have appreciated her insights and ideas along the way.

Not only has Renée helped with the care of my baby, but she swooped in and cared for me just when I thought things were going to fall apart. She’s folded laundry, helped prep food, tidied my house and calmed me down when I was worried that I was doing everything wrong. She’s been so much more than an extra set of hands and we are so lucky to have found her!
